There is so much more to life at UNSW than what happens in the classroom. Ask any current UNSW student and they will tell you that campus life is never dull!
Below are just a few ways we make life good for our students, but make sure you check out all the exciting opportunities that make student life at UNSW so great!
Check out our video – it’ll take you on a tour of campus and show you why we pride ourselves on offering the perfect environment to study, socialise, stay fit and healthy, and cement your future.
A Student's Perspective
Watch the video to the right to hear from Edan Tanner, a Chemistry student, speak about studying science and her UNSW experience.
Your first weeks at university can be daunting – but don’t worry, you won’t be doing it alone! Many students choose to live in our on-campus residences, not only for the convenience, but also for the support and friendship that comes along with a residential community.
Peer Mentoring Program
UNSW Science runs a Peer Mentoring Program for new students who have just finished high school. Science students enrolled in second year or above are trained as mentors to provide you with guidance, advice and valuable first-hand insight into life as a science student at UNSW - whether it’s finding a great place to eat, locating your nearest carpark or booking a study lab. Their job is to help you feel comfortable and confident as you embark on one of the most exciting phases of your life.
Clubs and Societies
UNSW has more than 250 clubs and societies for students with interests ranging from cheerleading, comedy, film and yoga to debating, politics, sports, circus and volunteering. There are even academic clubs, such as the Science Society (SciSOC), that allow you to mix and mingle with people in the same degree or major as you, for fun events and other activities. The more you get involved, the more you will enjoy your time at UNSW.
